Revise every test three times

GSS Praveenchand · AIR 64 · CSE 2018 · 342 marks in Maths

Pi Craft › Toppers' blog › Revise every test three times
Key takeaways
  • Split time roughly 50% General Studies and 50% Mathematics
  • Solve two practice questions every day
  • Revise each test and its explanation at least three times
  • Repetition builds the speed to write short, clean answers

GSS Praveenchand secured AIR 64 in his third attempt, scoring 342 in Mathematics. An IIT Patna electrical engineer with three years in software, he divided his time about equally between General Studies and Mathematics.

His engine was consistent daily practice. Two questions a day from a regular practice initiative kept the habit alive, and a test series at home built exam stamina.

What made the difference was how he used tests. He went back to each paper and its explanations at least three times. That repetition built pattern recognition and helped him frame answers quickly in the exam hall.

The lesson for Mathematics students: marks come from the second and third look at your mistakes, not from the first attempt.
